This is my 2006 Nissan 350Z that has gone through many different build styles since purchasing it in 2017 as a senior in high school. I had some cash saved up for a few years working minimum wage jobs and putting away the gift money I received. I couldn’t make up my mind how I wanted to modify my first sports car and decided the 350Z was the best all-around car in my budget. Inspiration for the shoot location came from my love of aircraft which is also what I’m pursuing as a career. I’m currently studying aircraft mechanics through the COVID-19 pandemic which has proven difficult as it’s all hands-on.

The first few stages of the car were more performance-oriented in which I upgraded suspension and engine performance with not as much attention to aesthetics. After finding out the engine in my car is unhealthy I decided to focus on the looks and not push the car as hard.

The new goal of the car was to modify it in a way that accentuates the natural lines and shape of the car. To me this consists of perfect fitment, no corners cut, and no modification that overpowers or negatively affects another. A lot of patience and planning was taken in order to make sure everything flowed well.

Future plans for the car when I am done with the school are to focus on performance. For the time being, I'm undecided between building the current vq35de and boosting it or swapping to a different engine. I’d like to find the fine line of function and form that many strive for and I am willing to go through the trial and error process that ensues until I’m pleased with the car.
