Hi all!

My name is Ian Moo, aged 30, from Singapore. My Instagram is @merahmatriz, so do follow me on Instagram for more updates and photos of my Honda Civic FC1 1.5L Turbo.

So what got me into the car scene?  Good question!

When I was younger and during my daily commute to school, I would walk past modified cars in my neighbourhood car park. There is only so much a boy's mind can take when all he can see are Honda Civics, Mitsubishi Lancer Evos and Subaru WRXs! It's simply a matter of time before the 'Pull' of JDM cars take over, and that is how my interest in joining the car scene came about.

Nowadays when I drive past kids alongside their parents, at the first glance of my car, they would excitedly tug their parent's hand and point at my car with the biggest smile on their faces! That's what makes it all worthwhile. Those JDM cars were my childhood inspiration and I hope that in return, my car can be an inspiration to the younger generations!
I designed my car based on Batman's Batmobile and it's not just for looks! It's built for functionality too. There is a built-in kill switch to turn off all external lighting when the need arises! One of the reasons behind my purchase of the Civic FC1 was that aftermarket parts are far easier to obtain as Singapore is close to both Japan and China! Custom made parts are also readily accessible and fabricated in Johor, Malaysia.

My Civic FC1 is currently running 230bhp and making a 0-100kmh in just under 6.4seconds with a top speed of 252kmh.

  • Custom made 1700mm carbon fibre GT wing with custom made aircraft grade 7075-T6 aluminium stand;
  • SSCUS Euro sport seats; and
  • Oracal 651 Matte Black body wrap.

The majority of the modifications were undertaken by professional services such as the following:-

  • Hondata was tuned by Driven Singapore, tuner Joel Cheong;
  • TypeR body kit with custom splitter and lip set was fabricated at Jun Car Accessories; and
  • Oracal 651 Matte Black body wrap done by Ken from Keizo Custom.

My first car however was not the FC1. My first car was in fact a Honda Civic FD3 1.3L Hybrid. The design and customisations are almost identical to my current Civic. However, all performance upgrades only started with my Civic FC1!

I guess I am pretty much done in terms of customising my FC1, but however, as a car lover myself, there is always room for upgrades and improvements! I do enter into competitions occasionally and my car was nominated by Civic FC Malaysia Club during the Civic FC Day event on the 22 December 2018 held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and earned the trophy for the 'Best of the Best.

My dream car as far as it goes is a Lamborghini and I for sure would love to own one. The Lambo is definitely next on my to-do list! But even if I was to own an exotic car next, I will most definitely keep my FC1! I will never forget about the car I currently own! Both my civics are well maintained, dependable, and have performed way above my expectation standards and the most important of all, both of them had never broken down on me! In my opinion, having proper knowledge, a good understanding of your own car and timely maintenance ensures its lifespan and dependability in the long run.

Thank you all for reading about my FC1, do give my Instagram, @merahmatriz, a follow for updates!
