I’m 19 years old, living in Belgium and I'm the proud owner of this 2008 Opel/Vauxhall Astra OPC/VXR Nurburgring Edition. N° 341/835

I’ve entered the car scene due to my father and my brother. When I was younger I was interested in cars but not that fanatic. My first car was an Astra MK6, but after having several problems with the car, I’ve sold it and after searching a few weeks, I found this car. And after the test drive, I knew:

This is my car!!!! Immediately I knew this would be a car that will and has to stand out, to support a good cause. I’ll come back to this part later.

The car has already some modifications and upgrades.

• Front splitter,
• Side skirt extensions
• Roof spoiler  Maxton Carbon-design
• Lowered on Eibach springs in combination with the factory IDS+ system
• 8.5x19 Japan racing JR-11 wheels with 225-35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres
• Probably (I think) the world’s first Astra with genuine R35 GT-R leather seats with carbon back

Still to be done:

• Carbon Fiber flat-bottom steering wheel,
• One of a kind bonnet,
• Painted headlight inserts,
• Custom made centre console

The engine is fully forged and rebuilt by Janssens including front mount intercooler, bigger oil cooler, complete 3” stainless steel exhaust and ready to be tuned for Stage3, also the gearbox is rebuilt and a sport clutch mounded. After rebuilding the engine has been tuned by Klasen Motorsport in Germany, due to my age and driving experience they have set the tune at 290Bhp and 335 Lbf Ft. 

Now I come back to the seats.

I’ve bought the seats, not only because they look nice in my car, or it probably is the first Astra with these seats. My biggest motivation was the story from D.T.C (Driven To Cure).

It’s the story of Andrew, who had cancer, and his father bought an R35 GT-R because it was Andrew’s dream car. They have built, for me, one of the sickest, nicest GT-R in the world and they use the car to raise money to help other people who fight against cancer.

This story made me buy this seat and motivates me to help spread this story and support this fight against this horrible disease. This is also the reason that I have made contact with them together with DMCC-Center Rotselaar, to start and work together to help the good cause and the fight against cancer in Belgium and the rest of the world.

Due to this story, I hope, one day to buy myself an R35 GT-R and if possible also make it a widebody. And keep spreading the word and cause of DTC in Belgium and the rest of Europe/World, but till that time, I’m gonna do it with my Astra, maybe not as spectacular as the R35, but still proud of it.

I want to thank the people who helped me achieve all this.
