2017 Bagged Fiesta ST200 - Callum Yates

I especially appreciate the rarity of the car, Ford released the limited edition ST200 in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Fiesta which only saw approximately 1000 models sold in the UK.

I’m Callum Yates, 24 from Manchester UK, this is my Airlift suspension Ford Fiesta ST200 remapped by Pumaspeed at Stage.3. Running at approximately 330 bhp. I’ve owned the car for a little over 1 year.

I think to some degree it’s natural for boys to have a natural affinity to cars, I myself growing up was always fascinated by cars, especially modified cars, I loved to play car games which gave you the ability to customise and modify your cars in the game such as the need for speed, grand theft auto or Forza. My favourite tv show was top gear, something that I watched every week, while my favourite film was Fast and the Furious.

I remember when I would go to football matches I would always go and look and take pictures of the footballer's cars in the stadium car park. I am reminded of this when I’ve seen photos being taken of my car. As a child, I would love to draw different cars and add my own customisations to them such as designing them body kits or adding different wheels or patterns and colours etc.

I’m still today a fan of watching car YouTube channels such as B7TMY, yannimize and officially gassed. I love Ford and my first car was a Ford Fiesta Zetec S black edition, I loved it so much that I decided that I just couldn’t part with it, and instead I kept it and use it as a daily, this turned out to be much needed for when the 200 was away at different garages having its work completed.

I had my eyes on the 200 for a long time, I think for me, the most attractive aspect of this car is its ‘storm grey’ factory colour, it’s such a unique shade which has the ability to seem different colours in different lighting, I’ve had people call the car all sorts of different colours such as blue, white and silver.

I especially appreciate the rarity of the car, Ford released the limited edition ST200 in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Fiesta which only saw approximately 1000 models sold in the UK. Due to the fact of its limited release numbers, I took the opportunity to display the car with other ST200 owners at the Ford fair at Silverstone. It was amazing to see so many 200s together.

When I first bought the car I did have the intention of keeping it stock or modifications to a minimum, but that was then and now I’m at the point where I’m struggling to think of what more I could possibly do to the car.

Future Plans

Unfortunately, I believe that I have come to the end of the road with my st200, I’ve come to this decision partly due to having three dogs, I’ve also realised that I’ve done all the modifications that I would want to do to the car, which is why I feel like it’s now time for me to move on to something bigger and more practical. More than likely the car will be stripped for parts and go back to standard for sale.

Groups/Clubs

Although I’m not as big into the car scene as some people are, my involvement has enabled me to become part of a supportive and knowledgeable community that has been able to provide me with advice, inspiration and recommendations in regard to tuning companies and car parts etc. but most importantly help with any problems I came across.

I also appreciate and enjoy taking the car to shows such as the Ford fair where I can display my car to other enthusiasts who can appreciate the time effort and money which has gone into building the car.
