Performance Stats:385 hp to 485hp

From a Classic Muscle Childhood to “The Bully”

I’m Tony Gonzalez, a 51-year-old Latino and Vice President of Royal REBELZ American muscle car club in Arizona. Growing up, I was surrounded by classic muscle—my dad owned one and was a car club member. That scene sparked my own passion, and I’ve owned both older and newer muscle cars ever since. Dodge, especially the Hemi, captured my heart—and led me to build “The Bully.”

Embodying a Bull: Design and Inspiration

Instead of a standard Chicago Bulls theme, I leaned into something more literal: a bull. I wanted “The Bully” to look sinister and aggressive on the street, so we crafted a design that really stands out. We added custom aluminum bull teeth, eyes integrated into the headlights, a bull-nose ring on the grille, horns, and a refined faux-fur bull interior in both the cabin and trunk. We even created a bullpen display for car shows. It’s always turning heads.

Power Up: Performance Mods and Build Details

Under the hood sits a 345 Hemi, tuned from 385 up to 485 horsepower. We added a custom cold air intake and upgraded engine bay components. Aero bits include a front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser from Vicrez, plus another Duraflex body kit. A massive 70-inch carbon-fiber wing from NRG Innovations with custom side winglets brings serious presence. We dropped the ride height with a 3.5-inch Eibach lowering kit and added a nitrous system—two 100-shot bottles tucked in the trunk. We finished with a carbon-fiber hood with heat extractors, Borla exhaust, and a custom wrap and lighting system that elevates the whole show.

Team Effort: Who Made It Happen

Most of the heavy lifting was done by local Arizona shops. AZ MotorTrenz handled the body kits, and Outlaw Race Engines took care of the engine build. I couldn’t have done it without their expertise.

Awards, Media Features, and Future Plans

So far, "The Bully" has earned 26 trophies—three of them Best of Show—and has been featured on three magazine covers. It even stars in a children’s book. Moving forward, I want to push the limits of customization and imagination in the car community and continue expanding on this build.

Huge thanks to AZ MotorTrenz, Outlaw Race Engines, and everyone who’s supported me along the way.

Next Dream: A Hellcat

While “The Bully” is my pride and joy, I still dream of the day I own a Hellcat.

Paul Doherty Author, Editor, C.E.O, Born in Manchester and one of six brothers, Paul Doherty grew up in a family where a love for cars was second nature, following in his mechanic father's footsteps. With a lifelong passion for car modifications, he spent years selling cars and vans while balancing a career as a retail manager and later owning a chain of furniture shops. As a single dad to three, Paul’s dedication led him to create Stance Auto Magazine to celebrate grassroots car builders. The magazine, one of the last printed for modified cars, is devoted to showcasing everyday builders who create their projects from scratch, often in humble home garages. Driven by passion more than profit, Paul’s work allows car enthusiasts to see their dreams featured in a magazine that puts people, not money, first.
