My Journey into the Automotive World

Hi, my name is Jay, and I live in Garland, Texas, a suburb of Dallas and I’m the Co-founder of Ion Visual Solutions – specializing in large LED video wall installations.. I was born in Laos and immigrated to the United States in 1980. Growing up poor, I always dreamed of making it big someday.

As a teenager, I was obsessed with car magazines like SuperStreet, Import Tuner, MiniTruckin’, and Lowrider. Reading these publications fueled my passion, and I dreamed that one day, I’d own and build my own custom car. Along the way, I learned about fuel systems, superchargers, and turbochargers, which deepened my love for modifying cars.

Why I Chose the 2019 Honda Civic Type R

I drive a 2019 Honda Civic Type R, the first Type R released in the U.S. As soon as it hit the market, I knew I had to get my hands on one. I wanted a daily driver that combined speed, style, and functionality, and the Civic Type R checked all the boxes.

The Customization Journey – Why I Built It

For me, no car stays stock. There are always opportunities to enhance performance, refine aesthetics, and push functionality to the next level. Building a car isn’t a one-time project—it’s an ongoing evolution. Every mod I’ve done is a reflection of my passion, and every upgrade brings me closer to my vision of the perfect ride.

Who Did the Work?

Future Plans

For now, I have no major modification plans. It’s time to enjoy what I’ve built so far.

The car scene has introduced me to so many amazing people. Some of them have become lifelong friends, and the community is a huge part of why I love this hobby so much.

Dream Car

The NA1 Acura NSX was always my dream car, and in July 2024, I finally acquired one!
