Reagan Somers and Her Love for BMWs

At just 19, Reagan Somers has already cemented her place in the car community as a passionate BMW enthusiast. With a love for driving that started at a young age, Reagan’s story is one of dedication, exploration, and an unwavering commitment to building cars that reflect her personality. Her current pride and joy? A 2011 BMW 135i E82, lovingly nicknamed "Bean."

The Beginning: A Jeep, A Mustang, and the Perfect BMW

Reagan’s car journey began with a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a gift from her grandmother after she earned her driver's license. While she was grateful for the car, something was missing. “Jeeps weren’t my thing,” she admits.

So, Reagan and her dad set out to find her a new car, and she had her heart set on a Mustang. But after test driving one, she was disappointed. “I hated it,” she recalls. That’s when she stumbled upon a 2007 BMW 335i E90 on Facebook Marketplace, which she quickly dubbed "Trusty Dusty." From the moment she sat in it, she knew—BMWs were her cars.

A Growing Passion for Building Cars

After the 335i, Reagan’s passion for cars shifted into high gear. She bought a 2009 BMW 335i already pushing 600HP to the wheels and decided she wanted to get hands-on. "That car made me want to get my hands dirty and see if I could build one myself," she says.

Her love for BMWs continued to grow. She traded her 1998 BMW 328i E36, “Rose,” for a 2011 328i E90, which she named “Benny.” Though she enjoyed the car, she knew she was ready for something bigger. Then, she found her dream car—a 2011 BMW 135i E82. Reagan and her boyfriend drove 19 hours to Indiana to pick it up.

Inspired by Her Father

Reagan’s passion for cars started with her father, who was also an enthusiast. “He had Civic hatchbacks and would let me ‘drive them’ when I was just five or six,” she reminisces. He was her role model, encouraging her to pursue whatever she set her mind to. “He would always say, ‘You can achieve anything if you take the leap,’” she recalls.

Sadly, Reagan’s father passed away in May of 2022, but his love for cars and the memories they shared continue to inspire her. “Every time I see a car he loved, I know it’s him reminding me he’s still with me on this journey.”

What Makes "Bean" Special

“Bean,” as Reagan calls her 2011 BMW 135i, stands out in every way. It’s wrapped in a stunning Diamond White by Vinyl Frog, and sports a Clinched Widebody kit and Heritage Okayama-dir wheels. But that’s not all—Bean features pink 326 Power Lug Nuts and custom Valentine’s Day jelly beans decorating the floating air tank in the trunk.

The stock red leather interior is pristine, and the car’s trunk setup by Exotic Motorsports is truly one-of-a-kind. "I like to think my car is unique because a girl drives it, and it has jelly beans in the trunk!" Reagan says, proudly.

Most of the custom work on Bean was completed by Exotic Motorsports, a shop Reagan has come to trust for delivering quality. From the widebody kit to the custom trunk setup, their expertise has helped bring Reagan’s vision to life.

Future Plans: 2011 Bagged BMW 135i e82

Reagan’s build doesn’t stop here. She has her sights set on some serious engine upgrades in the future, including an engine swap and possibly adding four massive turbos sticking out of the hood! "I also want to do a full M1 conversion kit," she adds with excitement.

Dream Car

Reagan's ultimate dream car is the BMW 1995 850ci E31. While she loves her 135i, she admits that an 850ci is the next big goal.
