Introduction

Hello, Stance Auto Magazine family! We’re back with Volume #2, featuring my 1998 Acura Integra RS. For those who haven’t checked out my first article on the Stance Auto Magazine website, let me introduce myself. My name is Brandon Rendon, and I’m from Rockport, Texas. I own and have been building my 1998 Acura Integra RS, and I’ve made some serious changes since my last feature.

The Evolution of My Bagged Acura Integra RS Build

Previously, my Integra was a mild track/daily build where I focused on retaining AC, heat, power steering, and a full radiator while running a boosted setup. It was a challenge, but I made it work. However, I took a complete 180-degree turn and stripped everything out, transforming my build into a full show car.

I spent a year perfecting my engine bay, making it show-ready. The heart of the build now consists of a fully built B18 block with a built GSR head, complete with locked VTEC. The bay was shaved and finished with a bedliner coating—a unique touch I haven't seen at any shows. Additional features include a tucked harness, tucked fuel and brake lines, a brake booster delete, a coil-on-plug kit, and an extensive amount of powder coating.

I’m also rocking the Sol Kreations 365 wiper delete cowl, and I designed custom fender gussets. I sent my template over, and they fabricated a set that fit perfectly. There’s so much more under the hood, but it’s too much to list, so be sure to check out the complete build sheet!

Bagged Acura Integra RS Widebody and Exterior Upgrades

I always wanted to go widebody, but at the time, no kits were available for the USDM Integra. So, I got creative. Tracklife Composites had just released a new fender design with a carbon insert, and I was the first to buy a set. For the rear, I found Rocketz, a company that sold rear overlays for the Integra, which allowed me to complete my mild widebody setup. The attention it gets is incredible.

I’m still rocking the CCC Racing side skirts with my custom aero kit. I also designed a one-of-one carbon fiber lip and splitter combo, which my homie at Gotti Custom Composites brought to life. The rear features an APR GTC 200 carbon wing with extra 2-inch risers, and the entire build is wrapped in Oracle’s Matte Turquoise Lavender. Completing the look, I added SSR MS1 16x8 wheels for the perfect finishing touch.

Bagged Acura Integra RS Interior Modifications and Trunk Setup

Inside, I upgraded the interior with hexagon-stitched vinyl racing seats, a powder-coated harness bar, an NRG Matsuri steering wheel with a matching weighted shift knob, and a Hybrid Racing short shifter. Sol Kreations 365 hooked me up with an aluminum kick panel, a hexagon ECU cover, a dimple-die floor plate, and custom hexagon foot pedal covers. An aluminum shift plate rounds out the perfect combination with the shifter.

For suspension, I went with Airlift 3P air suspension, which has been a game-changer. Now, loading and unloading onto my trailer is effortless. I also designed and built my own custom trunk setup, featuring dual powder-coated air tanks and hand-bent hard lines by a friend. The panels are coated in bedliner to match the engine bay, with turquoise vinyl accents to complement the powder-coated details.

Achievements and Future Plans

This past show season has been unforgettable. I’ve taken home numerous first-place trophies, including Best Acura at Import Face-Off, Judges’ Choice at Slammedenuff (where my car was also a booth display), and a Top 20 spot at the 742 Marketing Just Vibes Show with over 400 registered vehicles. But as every car enthusiast knows—I always want more!

I’m currently building a 2001 JDM Integra. Right now, I’m shaving the engine bay, installing a roll cage, and fitting a Carbon C-West front bumper, an M&M widebody, and additional goodies from Sol Kreations 365. My goal is to take this build to SEMA this year, and I have a huge surprise in store—something that will be a one-of-a-kind modification in the Integra world. Stay tuned!

The Passion Behind the Build

A lot of people assume I have unlimited funds, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I do 90% of the work myself to save money. It’s tough, and I’ll be transferring parts from my USDM Integra to my JDM build because I can’t afford to keep both. It’ll be bittersweet to take apart my current build, but I know it will be worth it in the end. My plan is to kick off this show season with the USDM Integra and close it out with the JDM build.

Unique Details and Inspirations

Everything I do on my builds has a purpose. For instance, when I designed my fender gussets, I knew I wasn’t going to run a hood, so I shaped them to outline the hood’s appearance. My interior features a hexagon stitch pattern, which inspired my use of hexagonal details on Sol Kreations 365 parts. Additionally, since my wrap shifts between turquoise and lavender, I ensured that exterior accents were purple while the interior details were teal to complement the color scheme.

Shoutouts and Gratitude

I’ve been fortunate to gain some incredible sponsors, and I’d like to give them a huge shoutout:

  • Brady at Sol Kreations 365 – He’s always gone above and beyond to bring my ideas to life, and we have even more in store for the JDM build.

  • Armando at Snake Tuning – He hooked me up with their Coil-on-Plug kit and their latest mini dizzy. I’ll also be installing their new EMU for pinpoint tuning on both builds.

  • Gotti Custom Composites – They created my one-of-one custom lip, and we’re collaborating on even more unique parts for my next build.

  • My amazing wife – She books the hotels, helps me load and unload the car, and sets up my display at shows. I couldn’t do this without her support.
