I was born in Chicago Illinois and Served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, I graduated from Texas A&M as a mechanical engineer and I’m currently working for the DOD as an aerospace engineer.
I’ve been into cars since I can remember, as a young kid around 5-6 years old I would always be helping my Dad in the garage or at my grandpa’s transmission shop. After getting promoted from a flashlight holder, my Dad would let me tighten stuff and help him install parts. My Dad was a diehard muscle car and VW man. I got into imports just like everyone else my age after watching the fast and the furious. In high school is where my import obsession really took off. I owned a few beater cars that I would try and make fast and often would blow up during the process.
Why did I choose this platform:
The Evo is basically a four-door supercar killer right out of the box and I just had to have one when I could afford one. Before I bought the Evo owned a few civics with some motor swaps that got a little old and I started to make a little bit more money. I then built a 2001 Audi S4, car was a full bolt-on with a built drivetrain. This is when I had my first taste of how awesome AWD could be on the streets. I ended up selling the Audi and I went back to an FWD platform. It was an SRT4 ACR that did full bolt-ons, I owned this car for about 6 months or so. I sold it because I couldn’t get any traction to save my life lol. It was after selling the SRT4 I knew I had to own my dream car!
After my time in the Marine Corps, I made it my mission to buy an EVO. When I first got the Evo it was mostly stock with a 6262 turbo kit. After driving the car for about 2-3 days I noticed the brakes were bad, so I took to a local brake shop and this is where it went all downhill… The shop took it out for a test drive and managed to spin the main bearings. I was able to find a local shop that was willing to do a rebuild along with some upgrades.
The shop ended up doing a hack job on everything and was stuck there for about 4 years and I was out about 26K at this point. After getting the car back to Texas I decided to send the car to a very well recognized shop CP Motorsports located in Houston, Texas at the end of summer 2021. I gave the shop full rain on the car just as long as it was perfect. The shop owner Carlos was very excited to take on the nightmare to my surprise. CP motorsport went through every inch of the car. Even had to replace the original block due to the previous shop over decking it. Carlos told me he built my Evo the same way he would have built his very own if he had to.
