From Hot Wheels to Honda Dreams

Some builders grow into the car world — others are born wired for it.
For 42-year-old Tim Kennemore of Corsicana, Texas, turning wrenches isn’t a hobby; it’s the rhythm of his life.

He runs Casita Travel Trailers by day, but once the clock hits off-hours? He’s in the shop — building, helping, or teaching anyone willing to pick up a tool and learn.

Like many of us, Tim’s spark came from Hot Wheels, Micro Machines, Legos, and Erector Sets, but the real ignition was his first Honda CRX.
He blew a head gasket, fixed it himself, and instantly knew:

“This is it — this is who I am.”

The friendships, the late nights, the road trips, the shows — all of it shaped the builder he is today. And through it all, Tim held onto a mantra that never failed him:

“Set your goals, never give up, 20 minutes a day goes a long way — and stay the course.”

Why an Integra? Because Nothing Else Feels Like Home

Anyone who’s spent time with a DC chassis knows they leave a mark.
For Tim, the Integra has always been the platform — but his journey came with more than a few dents.

  • Integra #1: Destroyed while being young, wild, and racing on the highway.

  • Integra #2: Totaled when a driver ran a stop sign.

  • Integra #3: Lost when someone pulled out in front of him.

Tim jokes that it was the “curse of the yellow cars,” but two days after the last wreck, he found the 1995 Acura Integra that would become his forever build.

What followed?
Transformation after transformation, setback after setback — blessing after blessing.
The car evolved with him, becoming not just a machine, but a piece of his identity.

Behind the Wheel: A Whole Different Vibe

Tim’s Integra isn’t just driven — it’s experienced.
With its wild paint, aggressive stance, and right-hand-drive conversion, it gets attention everywhere it rolls.

“You won’t make a block without breaking necks.”

People look once, then look again when they realize the steering wheel is on the right.
Parked and aired out, Tim calls it:

“Car porn at its finest.”

Shows, meets, gas stations — it doesn’t matter.
The car gets love not because it’s flashy, but because every inch of it shows patience, planning, and purpose.

Passion vs. Recognition — Why Not Both?

Tim didn’t start building to win trophies. He built it because it’s what he loves. But as the Integra evolved, recognition naturally followed — awards, invites, features, and a reputation that now spans across shows and states.

“Passion comes first — but recognition pushes you to raise your standards.”

That balance is what fuels his next-level craftsmanship.

SEMA: Where the Dream Became Real

The Integra has hit SEMA five times, but the first appearance came from a simple phone call.

Terry Payne reached out with a vendor spot and said:

“If anyone deserves this, it’s you.”

Tim jumped on it — and his car sat under the lights of Las Vegas for the first time.

He’s since been featured through 742 Marketing and other vendors who recognized how much attention the build commands.

That first moment walking into SEMA?

“Surreal. All the late nights were worth it.”

STATUS Car Club: A Decade of Family

Tim has proudly repped STATUS Car Club for 10 years, calling the crew more than a club — a family. Through them, he’s traveled, learned, built, taught, and grown.
And above all:

“We only get one chance at this — how you carry yourself inspires those who come next.”

Tim’s Advice to Builders

  • Never give up.
  • Set your goals and stick to them.
  • 20 minutes a day adds up faster than you think.
  • Don’t cheap out — buy quality parts first.
  • Plan everything on paper before touching the car.
  • And for Integra owners?

“DM me anytime. I’ve made the mistakes — let me help you avoid them.”

r0cean11 Photography began as a simple hobby for me—something I explored out of pure curiosity and passion. Twenty-four years later, it has grown into one of the defining parts of my life. Before stepping fully into automotive photography, I spent years building cars for SEMA. I photographed my own builds and projects long before I ever considered taking the craft seriously. That all changed when my last build was totaled; from that moment, photography became more than an interest—it became my purpose. ----------- Today, I shoot and write for Stance Auto Magazine, PASMAG, 742 Marketing Events, Super Lap Battle, Global Time Attack, RACEWORZ, and a wide range of automotive events across the United States. ----------- To me, automotive photography is more than capturing a vehicle—it’s about telling the story that lives within it. Every builder leaves a piece of themselves in their car, and my job is to honor that by showcasing their vision through my lens. ----------- You’ll find my event coverage, feature shoots, and automotive storytelling across all my platforms. I’m always open to connecting, answering questions, and collaborating with builders, enthusiasts, and fellow creatives. ----------- I am also a Partner with Stance Auto Magazine, serving as the Director of Marketing and Media. ----------- Facebook (Personal): Donald Rochin (Donnie Roc)
