A Passion-Fueled Journey with My Mitsubishi Evo X
"No matter how difficult it is, please never give up." ~ SP 11
My name is Emanuel Arenas. I’m 32 years old, originally from Mexico City, and currently living in California, where I work as an industrial mechanic. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been hooked on cars—thanks to racing video games, car films, and especially Formula 1. That early exposure to motorsport lit a fire in me that’s only grown stronger over the years.
Falling in Love with the Mitsubishi Evolution Legacy
Of all the cars out there, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution—especially the Evo X—has always held a special place in my heart. Its aggressive styling, rally-bred performance, and the massive tuning potential drew me in. With the right mods, you can push this machine to well over 1,000 horsepower, and that’s the dream I’ve been chasing.
The Tuning Bug Starts with the GSX
My first project was a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. It started with cosmetic mods, but I quickly dove into performance upgrades. From there, I knew I wanted to build something truly powerful. I’ve since owned and worked on:
-
1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T
But it was the Evo X that really changed the game for me.
Driving the Evo is pure adrenaline. Every time I’m behind the wheel, I feel motivated. It’s not just the performance—it’s the recognition at car shows, the support from fellow enthusiasts, and the connection to something bigger.

Built Not Bought: Tuning and Community
The build wouldn’t have been possible without the tuning expertise of @bainstuning_gary and the help of @josecastaneda37, who assisted with the exterior installs and supported the project from day one.
I never built this Evo for attention. It began in my garage as a personal dream. Over time, it became something greater—a car that reflects years of learning, patience, and determination. Now I find myself thinking about the next evolution of the build. Maybe I’ll hit 1,000HP. Maybe a full carbon widebody is next.
Staying Driven and Staying Connected
I’m part of @Nvus916, a close-knit car club that’s been like family. Being around people who share the same dedication to the tuner lifestyle has made a massive impact. These communities are where the real passion lives—at car meets, in the garages, and on the road.
Even though the McLaren 600LT Coupe is my dream car, my Evo means more to me than just horsepower or lap times. It’s proof that with hard work and heart, anything is possible.
Big thanks to my family, friends, and everyone who’s had my back throughout this journey. This is only the beginning.
