Nissan RB25 NEO 200SX - Ismail Mitchell
I drive the Nissan Silvia S13 for many reasons, one being for the most obvious reasons which are its rich history with the Japanese Car scene and how popular they are above all other models.

I’m self-employed and I was born and bred in Mitchell's Plain. I’ve been a car enthusiast for the longest time. My late father, Moegamat Shaheed Mitchell, was my influence in everything motoring. His speciality was being a motorbike mechanic for as long as I can remember. So we'll have to blame him for all my enthusiasm for the motoring scene.
Why did I buy this car? It's funny you would ask this, as it was just the other day I had done some more research on the S chassis like I'm always doing. I love reading up on people's opinions about their love for the brand and model, and then also end up finding out fun facts about it. I drive the Nissan Silvia S13 for many reasons, one being for the most obvious reasons which are its rich history with the Japanese Car scene and how popular they are above all other models.
Most of all, I grew up loving the Nissan brand. Its motor has this unique noise through its rev range that really just appeals to my liking, especially when it has all the added bits to produce decent power. This is about the least I can say about WHY I choose the S13 model over most. Don't get me wrong, I would love any of the GTR models, any day of the week.
Regardless of the fact that there are so many aftermarket bits for the S chassis, one cannot but feel like you are sitting in the cockpit of a fighter jet. I'm yet to get this feeling in any other car, in standard form. The S chassis, specifically the S13, gives you that long front end whilst you rest on the rear axles from where the power is delivered to the ground.
One genuinely feels like you're part of history. The S13 in itself is a legend in the JDM market, for reasons on and off the track, let alone the commercial influence it has. Pulling up into parking areas with my ride, makes me feel like I'm part of the Fast and the Furious franchise, which at most, is second to none
You won't easily find another S13 sporting an original Origin Lab body kit on the streets of South Africa. There's still some more I could do to it, with possibly adding some over-fenders to give it some more width of course, but for now, I'm pretty satisfied as I'll need to widen the garage at home first, lol.

Advice/Tips
To anyone who wants to race me???? NO, lol. But being the open cards guy that I am, I'd share this. It's truly gonna be hard to find a stock S Chassis car with the amount of new and second-hand upgrades available, so the chances of scoring some upgraded bits when purchasing a car like this are most likely, and then of course you can go crazy with taking it to the next level. My personal opinion is like you see in my car, I like every part of my vehicle modified, but done so tastefully.
So what I can say is, you will still gain the same respect owning this ride, in stock form, as what you would get if it were modified to any extent. Not many cars would be able to give you that. Fortunately, the S13 falls into this classic category. Besides that fact, one could create a very impressive power-to-weight ratio, compared to other coupes. It's hard to believe that the S chassis is lighter than the Honda S2000.... paired with any of the GTR inline 6 lumps and some forced induction... married to the handling and balance of a track car??? Need I say more?
Clubs/Groups
Unfortunately not any specific, other than being in a national WhatsApp group with S Chassis owners, who would occasionally hook up for runs or meet at car-related events. I'm sure that if you're an owner, you'd eventually end up in these groups, be it on Facebook or any other social media platform.
Following car groups surely has its perks, especially if you are driving such a rare modelled vehicle. It's also beneficial when needing parts locally and being able to share advice, should one run into any problems. It helps skip the inevitable teething problems one would have to go through if you hadn't had this kind of connection. Being part of these kinds of groups also connects you to the Japanese culture which these models are so rife. It also surely brings like-minded people together which is always cool.
Dream Car
The dream is to get the GTR parked in the garage. The space has already been made.
