I’m an Aircraft engineer, I'm a Born and bred grease monkey,

I love anything with an engine in. This was sparked by my father's career-making Lola racing cars in the '80s and body kits and styling enhancements for Fords and Saabs before he changed to an Aircraft Engineer working on composite aircraft panels. At 16 years old I paid £295 for an mk3 Astra that had a bit of damage and, after watching the Fast and Furious and reading countless Maxpower magazines, I decided that I wanted to be part of the tuning scene.

Thankfully I worked as an apprentice at a place that did composites and had a paint shop, so I bought a body kit and some wheels and with help from my dad (my boss at the time) I began my modifying journey. I completely forgot to check how expensive the insurance would be....the word ouch sprang to mind. After the Astra, I started working at a garage and managed to grab a Honda Civic ep3 for a bargain aged 19.

At 20 I traded the Civic for a Megane F1 then another Megane,  just a slightly better one (the joys of trade-ins)! At 23 I bought a DC5 from Japan and spent the next year mostly in VTEC. Just before my 25th birthday, I decided to sell the Integra and buy a damaged Evo 4 that was good fun.

This however ended in tears when the engine decided to go bang. Once the Evo had decided to let go I thought I'd take a slower and more chilled approach with cars. Whilst watching the BTCC a Passat CC driven by Tom Onslow-Cole appeared and I decided "I'm gonna have one of them". So that leads me onto my project: @vwccwidebody What car: Passat CC.

What makes it unique: You'll be able to tell yourself when you look at the photos. Basically, I've made the only 2019 kitted Passat CC BTCC road-legal car out there. I've wrapped the car in the Nic Hamilton "Rokit" livery so it's about as understated as having ginger hair in China.
